Few houseplants have captured the plant world's imagination quite like the Philodendron Pink Princess. Its deep, almost black-green leaves are splashed with vivid bubblegum pink variegation — a combination so striking it looks almost artificial. No two leaves are the same. No two plants are the same. It's one of the most sought-after collector aroids you can buy online, and for good reason: it's genuinely, unapologetically beautiful.
Fun fact: The Pink Princess is Philodendron erubescens 'Pink Princess,' a cultivar that's been in cultivation since the 1970s but exploded in popularity in the 2010s as plant collecting went mainstream. The pink coloration is caused by a lack of chlorophyll in certain cells — the same mechanism behind most variegated plants. Because it's an unstable variegation, each new leaf is a surprise: some may be heavily pink, some mostly green, and occasionally a leaf will emerge nearly all pink or all dark. Bright indirect light is the single biggest factor in encouraging more pink — the more light, the more the plant can afford to produce those chlorophyll-free pink cells.
A note on variegation: Like all Pink Princess plants, the amount of pink variegation varies naturally from leaf to leaf and plant to plant. Your plant may arrive with more green than the photos show — this is completely normal. As it matures and settles into its new environment with good light, pink variegation typically increases. Every PPP is a work in progress, and that's part of what makes it special.
Care Guide
Light: Bright, indirect light for 6–8 hours daily is the most important factor for maintaining and encouraging pink variegation. Too little light and the plant will push out more green leaves to compensate. Avoid harsh direct sun, which scorches the leaves.
Watering: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering is the most common mistake — always ensure the pot has drainage holes and never let it sit in standing water.
Humidity & Temperature: Prefers humidity above 50% but adapts to average household levels. Ideal temps are 65°F–85°F (18°C–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and AC vents.
Soil: Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix — equal parts potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark is ideal. Good drainage is essential.
Fertilizer: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer at half strength. Skip in fall and winter.
Support: Give it a moss pole or trellis — this is a climber, and climbing encourages larger leaves with more dramatic variegation over time.
Pro Tip: If your PPP starts pushing out mostly green leaves, move it to a brighter spot. If it starts pushing out mostly pink or all-pink leaves (called "reverting to pink"), those leaves will have less chlorophyll and may be more fragile — a little extra humidity helps. The sweet spot is leaves with a balanced mix of green and pink.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children.

Alocasia Variegated Frydek Brandie Perry
The plant did not arrive in great shape. However, it was an alocasia and I did not add insulation so this is not on the seller (and we all know alocasia does not travel well anddddd they come back)
From start to finish the transaction was amazing. They gave me a discount for my next order even though I didn't ask for one because I knew the risks, and they continued to answer my questions and help me! Will def order again from them and would encourage others to as well!
