The Philodendron Brasil is proof that a plant can be both drop-dead gorgeous and genuinely easy to grow. Its heart-shaped leaves are splashed with bold streaks of neon yellow and lime green against deep forest green — no two leaves are exactly alike. It vines, it trails, it climbs, and it grows fast enough that you'll actually notice the progress week to week. If you're looking for a beginner houseplant that looks like it belongs in a collector's greenhouse, this is it.
Fun fact: Philodendron Brasil is a naturally occurring variegated cultivar of Philodendron hederaceum, discovered in Brazil — hence the name. Unlike many variegated plants that are lab-produced or unstable, Brasil's variegation is remarkably consistent and reliable. The yellow-green streaks run through the center of each leaf like a painted brushstroke, and the pattern holds even in lower light conditions (though it's most vivid in bright indirect light).
Care Guide
Light: Bright, indirect light brings out the most vivid variegation. It can handle medium light, but the yellow tones may fade and growth will slow. Avoid direct sun — it will scorch those beautiful leaves.
Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry — roughly every 1–2 weeks depending on your environment. Drooping leaves mean it's thirsty; yellowing leaves usually mean it's been overwatered. Always use a pot with drainage holes.
Humidity & Temperature: Adapts well to average household humidity (above 40%), but thrives with more. Ideal temps are 65°F–85°F (18°C–29°C). Keep above 50°F and away from cold drafts and AC vents.
Soil: A well-draining mix is all it needs — standard potting soil with perlite or orchid bark works great. Ensure the pot has drainage to prevent root rot.
Fertilizer: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer at half strength. Skip in fall and winter.
Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years when it becomes root-bound. It's a fast grower, so don't be surprised if it needs a new home sooner.
Pro Tip: Give it a moss pole or let it trail from a hanging basket — both look stunning. The more it climbs, the larger the leaves get. Wipe the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to keep them clean and the variegation looking sharp.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children.

Alocasia Variegated Frydek Brandie Perry
The plant did not arrive in great shape. However, it was an alocasia and I did not add insulation so this is not on the seller (and we all know alocasia does not travel well anddddd they come back)
From start to finish the transaction was amazing. They gave me a discount for my next order even though I didn't ask for one because I knew the risks, and they continued to answer my questions and help me! Will def order again from them and would encourage others to as well!
