The Peperomia Marble (Peperomia obtusifolia 'Marble') looks like someone took a paintbrush to each leaf and swirled silver, cream, and green together in a pattern that's never quite the same twice. Thick, rounded, and glossy, the leaves have a sculptural quality that makes this compact little plant look far more expensive than it is. It's the kind of houseplant that earns a permanent spot on your best shelf and gets asked about by every visitor.
A cultivar of Peperomia obtusifolia — the Baby Rubber Plant — the Marble inherits all the best traits of the species: drought tolerance, adaptability to average household conditions, and a naturally compact growth habit that stays tidy without pruning. Like all Peperomia, it's an epiphyte native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, where it grows on tree bark and rocky surfaces rather than in deep soil. That heritage gives it thick, water-storing leaves that make it one of the most forgiving houseplants you can own. It's also completely non-toxic to cats and dogs.
🌿 Fun Facts
Peperomia obtusifolia is nicknamed the Baby Rubber Plant because its thick, glossy leaves resemble those of the Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica) — though the two are completely unrelated.
The marbled variegation in this cultivar is caused by uneven chlorophyll distribution across the leaf surface — the silver and cream areas have less chlorophyll, which is why brighter light helps maintain the crispest contrast.
Peperomia are one of the largest plant genera in the world, with over 1,000 species — and the Marble is consistently one of the most popular cultivars among collectors for its striking, gallery-worthy foliage.
💡 Pro Tips
Light: Bright to medium indirect light is ideal. More light = crisper, more vivid marbling. It tolerates lower light but the variegation may soften.
Water: Allow soil to dry out between waterings — the thick leaves store moisture efficiently. Overwatering is the most common mistake with Peperomia.
Humidity: Adapts well to average household humidity. No misting needed — one of its most convenient traits.
Soil: A well-draining potting mix or cactus blend works perfectly. Good drainage is essential.
Fertilizer: Feed lightly once a month during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength.
Perfect for: Shelves, desks, windowsills, pet-friendly homes, and anyone looking for a compact variegated houseplant that delivers maximum visual impact with minimal care.

Alocasia Variegated Frydek Brandie Perry
The plant did not arrive in great shape. However, it was an alocasia and I did not add insulation so this is not on the seller (and we all know alocasia does not travel well anddddd they come back)
From start to finish the transaction was amazing. They gave me a discount for my next order even though I didn't ask for one because I knew the risks, and they continued to answer my questions and help me! Will def order again from them and would encourage others to as well!
