Plant Care Guide
General Plant Care Tips
🪴Welcome to izzy’s plant care guide! Whether you're a seasoned plant parent or just getting started, these tips will help your plants thrive.
Watering💦
Izzy says Most plants prefer to dry out slightly between waterings. 🖐️Check the soil moisture by inserting your finger about an inch into the soil👇 — if it feels dry, it's time to water🤌. Moisture meters work great! 👉Overwatering is one of the most common causes of plant problems.💯
Light🔆
Izzy says Different plants have different light needs. 👈Tropical plants generally prefer ☀️bright, 🌤️indirect light, while succulents and cacti thrive in direct sunlight☀️.Keep plants away from 🥶cold drafts and 👎heating vents.
Humidity💦
🌴Izzy says Tropical plants love humidity❣️Use a pebble tray with water, or place a humidifier nearby to keep them happy.😁
Fertilizing🍽️
Izzy says Feed 🍼your plants during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce or 🛑 fertilizing in fall and winter when growth slows.
Repotting🪴
Izzy says When roots start growing out of the drainage 🕳️holes or the 🪴 becomes root-bound, it's time to repot🤷♂️. Choose a pot that is 1–2 inches larger in diameter and use fresh potting mix.👆
Tropical Plant Care🏝️
Izzy says Tropical plants like Monsteras, Pothos, and Philodendrons prefer 🤌☀️warm temperatures (65–85°F), indirect light, and regular watering💦. Allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings.👍🏻
Succulent & Cactus Care🌵
Izzy says Succulents and cacti are drought-tolerant 🏜️and prefer 🔆bright, direct light and infrequent watering. Water deeply 👈but allow the soil to dry out completely before watering again.👆
